Did you know that advanced building controls and energy management strategies could result in an average of nearly 30% energy savings? Unfortunately, there is an industry-wide knowledge gap that addresses how to utilize advanced controls to capitalize on energy savings and ensure buildings run at peak performance.
Funded by a grant from the Department of Defense (DoD) Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP), Slipstream developed this comprehensive training series to bridge that gap with 21 in-depth, hour-long sessions. Topics cover fundamentals of building controls, advanced control strategies including the ASHRAE Guideline 36 high-performance sequences of operations for HVAC systems, building energy modeling and intelligent building operations, and retro-commissioning and re-tuning.
Although the trainings address specific DoD criteria, these sessions are intended for all energy managers, building operators, and facility engineers who may lack background or experience in advanced controls. Each course is presented by an industry expert through an on-demand, self-paced learning environment.

The Environmental Security Technology Certification Program (ESTCP) is the U.S. Department of Defense’s environmental technology demonstration and validation program. The program’s goal is to identify and assess innovative technologies that address DoD’s high-priority environmental requirements efficiently and cost-effectively. Project partners included the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Texas A&M University, TRC, and Questions & Solutions Engineering.
